Meetly vs Xoyondo

Meetly wins for scheduling; Xoyondo wins only if you also need sign-up sheets. Xoyondo is genuinely generous, with no caps and no account required, but it has no calendar sync at all, so participants retype their week exactly as they would in When2Meet, and its free tier puts ads in front of the people you invited. Meetly imports four calendar sources and shows nobody an ad.

Xoyondo gets recommended in every thread about Doodle tightening its free tier, and the recommendation is half right. It kept the generous limits Doodle abandoned. It also kept the thing that makes manual polls slow, which is that nobody's calendar is ever read.

What does Xoyondo cover?

Three poll types, which is more breadth than most tools in this category. Date polls for scheduling, opinion polls for deciding anything else, and sign-up sheets for shifts and slots. Votes can be yes, no or maybe. Polls can be confidential so participants do not see each other's answers. Each poll gets a message board, so the discussion stays attached to the poll rather than scattering across email.

The free tier carries what Xoyondo describes as light ads. Paid plans remove them and add per-poll design options.

What do they cost?

Meetly is free with no per month fee, no participant cap and no advertising. Xoyondo is free with no cap either, but carries what it describes as light ads, and its paid plans remove them and add per-poll design options. For comparison, Doodle's free tier allows one group poll and Pro is 11 dollars per month billed annually.

The common criticism of Xoyondo is the absence of calendar sync, which means participants retype availability the same way they would in When2Meet. The common criticism of Meetly is narrower scope: no opinion polls and no sign-up sheets, so a club that needs those keeps a second tool.

Which one is the better Doodle replacement?

If you are replacing Doodle's full suite, Xoyondo is closer, because sign-up sheets and opinion polls are part of what you would be giving up. If you are replacing Doodle specifically for scheduling meetings, Meetly covers that job more completely, since calendar import and the finalize-and-invite step are both things Doodle's free tier no longer gives you either.

Use Meetly when

  • You want people to import calendars instead of retyping their week
  • No ads in front of your invitees is a requirement
  • You want the invite and meeting link sent when it is settled
  • You would rather paint a grid than tick a list of options
  • You want the best times ranked for you

Use Xoyondo when

  • You also need opinion polls or sign-up sheets in the same free tool
  • Confidential voting matters for your group

Why choose Meetly over Xoyondo?

Calendar import and no ads. Xoyondo has no calendar sync on its free poll flow, so participants retype their week exactly as they would in When2Meet, and its free tier shows advertising to the people you invited. Meetly imports Google, Outlook, Apple and any .ics feed, and shows nobody an ad.

Are Meetly polls really uncapped and free?

Yes. No participant cap, no poll limit, no paid tier and no account required on either side. Xoyondo is also uncapped, so the deciding differences are the ads and the calendar import.

Does Meetly rank the best times or just tally votes?

It ranks them, weighting preferred slots above merely free ones, so you pick from named options rather than counting a column yourself.

What does Xoyondo do that Meetly does not?

Opinion polls and sign-up sheets, plus a message board on each poll and confidential voting. Meetly does group scheduling only, so a club that also needs volunteer shifts will want Xoyondo or Doodle alongside it.
